Is the post office by MACS closed? I got important mail today :( and it would be nice to get it today instead of tomorrow

Thank you for keeping in mind the safety of the staff, faculty, and students and the condition of the roads. So many of us would have had to come into work on dangerous and unplowed roads!
And a big thank you to the essential staff who will make it possible for us to get into the parking lots and walk the sidewalks when we return! Ithaca College Is Closed Comment from

Thank you for deciding to close the college! Living 20 miles from work I was not looking forward to driving in today. And yes, a big thanks to all the people who have to be on campus for safety and maintenance duties.

Wow. I never thought I'd see the consecutive school-day streak get broken when I was a student here! How long has it been, fourteen, fifteen years?

Actually I believe it has been 26 years since Ithaca College has cancelled classes last. Despite the wonderful efforts to clear campus today, there is still a large amount of snow on the pathways. I personally don't know if the crews can clear it all by morning unless they all work through the night. I also think that the snow drifts need to be taken into concideration by whoever decides on having classes tommorrow as well. I went to dinner and came back the same way only to find my footprints snowed in! The wind drifts are bad and even thought the crews are doing a wonderful job of clearing the roads around campus, the pathways have barely been touched and are piled three feet high in some places. I just hope whoever makes the decision takes the snow drifts seriously too. There will be more snow in the morning, and no way for me to get to my morning class on time if these drifts continue like they should.

I too am concerned with the snow drift situation, in particular, my footprints being snowed over. If I walk to class tomorrow and my footprints get snowed over, how am I supposed to find my way back to my dorm?

Thank you indeed, though living 45 minutes away on a clear day, and more than an hour on a bad snowy day, I have to make my decision whether to try to come in much earlier -- esp. as a member of the early morning Wellness Clinic group. But I do indeed appreciate the closing -- and will almost certainly stay home again today -- with the snow and now wind up here in Cayuga County, I don't think I can get out of my driveway let alone 35 miles to Ithaca College. Good luck to the snow removal crews at IC with this wind!

To echo what has already been said -- many thanks to the administration for making this decision, and many thanks to all essential personnel who came in and took care of students and roads and sidewalks (oh my)!
