“Feel Your Boobies, Save Your Life”—that’s not a message Leigh Hurst expected to be spreading when she graduated from Ithaca College in 1992 with a degree in corporate communications. These days, though, after a high-powered career as a trainer—and a diagnosis of breast cancer at age 33—Hurst will return to her alma mater on Thursday, Feb. 22, to tell young women that detecting breast cancer early is the best way to survive the disease. And the best method of early detection for women under 40 is reflected in the title of Hurst’s talk:
“Feel Your Boobies: Are You Doing It?”
Thursday, February 22
7:30 p.m. in Park Hall Auditorium
In addition to her public talk, Hurst will teach a minicourse during her stay at Ithaca College.
