The Scholars in the Humanities Working Group presents a panel, "Finding the Right Balance: Combining Scholarship with Teaching at Ithaca College," on Thursday March 1, 12:05-1:00 pm in the Klingenstein Lounge of the Campus Center.

This second Colloquium features Vivian Bruce Conger, History; Maria DiFrancesco, Modern Languages and Literatures; Jason Freitag, History; and Katharine Kittredge, English.

A scholars working group is a group of colleagues who meet regularly to support one another’s scholarship. This series is jointly organized by the Faculty Development Committee and the Center for Faculty Excellence. Annette Levine was responsible for the concept and recruitment.

The final Colloquium is "Work in Progress in the Ithaca College Medieval and Renaissance Studies Colloquium" on Tuesday, April 10, 12:05-1:00, Clark Lounge. Panelists include Daniel Breen, English; Wendy Hyman, English; and additional members.

The theme in 2007-2008 will be scholarly endeavors with an international focus. If you are interested in proposing a colloquium, please contact Susanne Morgan of the Center for Faculty Excellence, https://www.ithaca.edu/cfe, morgan@ithaca.edu. The deadline for proposals for next year is April 20, 2007.

Colloquia are an ideal opportunity to support your colleagues, learn something interesting, and eat your lunch away from your desk, as beverage and treats will be provided. They are open to all, even if you need to arrive late or leave early. Coffee, fruit or vegetables, and cookies are provided; bring your lunch if you wish.
