HomerAdmin - Software Change

Beginning on Monday, March 26th, HomerAdmin users will notice new software being installed the first time HomerAdmin is launched.

HomerAdmin currently uses software called JInitiator to function properly. As of 3/26, an application called Java Runtime Environment (JRE) will replace JInitiator. JRE will download and install automatically upon first use of HomerAdmin as of 3/26. A security warning regarding the "digital signature" may appear. Follow these steps:

  • Windows Users (Internet Explorer):
    Check the Always trust content from this publisher box and then click Run.
  • Mac Users (Safari):
    Click the Show Certificate button, then check the Always trust these certificates box, then click Trust.

Special note for Windows users that use both HomerAdmin and Parnassus Core Applications:
If both applications need to be used at the same time, they will need to be opened in separate instances of Internet Explorer. Go to the Start menu and launch Internet Explorer to use these applications if one of them is already running (rather than opening a new browser window in the same session of Internet Explorer).
