Are you thinking about studying abroad in an Asian country? Consider applying for a Freeman-ASIA Award! Freeman-ASIA is an organization that offers awards of up to $7,000 to U.S. students needing financial support to study abroad in East/Southeast Asia.

The primary goal of the Freeman-ASIA Program is to increase the number of American undergraduates who study in East and Southeast Asia by providing them with the information and financial assistance they will need. Awardees are expected to share their experiences with their home campuses to encourage study abroad in Asia by others, and to spread greater understanding of the Asian cultures within their home communities.

Award application deadlines for the upcoming year are as follows:

  • Fall 2007 & Academic Year 2007-08 Awards Cycle: Wednesday, April 4, 2007
  • Spring 2008 & Early Academic Year 2008-09 Award: Wednesday, October 17, 2007
