Summer College Resident Assistants work for the Summer College for High School Students under the Division of Continuing Education and Summer Sessions at Ithaca College. Five or more positions are available under the supervision of the Director and the Residential Coordinator of the Ithaca College Summer College for High School Students.
Resident assistants will live in the residence halls with summer college students and provide daily supervision of the residence hall environment. Resident assistants will be involved with overall program preparations; student check-in and orientation; social and educational programs and activities; enforcing policies and procedures; and check-out of students at the conclusion of the program. Resident assistants will be required to work most weekends and evenings during the Summer College for High School Students program.
The maximum period of employment is from June 25, 2007 through August 4, 2007, although 1 or 2 positions may also be available for four weeks. The rate of pay is $8.25 per hour, for responsibilities equivalent to 37.5 hours per week. On-campus housing and a meal plan are provided with these positions during the period of employment. Because of job responsibilities, resident assistants will have a limited opportunity to attend summer classes. Resident assistants must be continuing Ithaca College students, and must have a strong academic record.
During the summer, when not directly working for the summer college program, resident assistants may be given the option of on-campus housing.
