The year-long "Out of the Closet and onto the Screen" film series will present its final spring screenings this week.

The films to be shown are:

Wednesday, April 4th, Textor 102
No Secret Anymore: The Times of Del Martin & Phyllis Lyon , 7pm
Hope Along the Wind: The Life of Harry Hay, 8pm
Each of these films profiles the groundbreaking individuals who founded the first organizations in the US for gay men and for lesbian women.

Thursday, April 5th, Textor 103, 7pm
The Times of Harvey Milk
In 1978 Harvey Milk became the first openly gay person to be elected to public office in California. This film tells the story of Milk's election, and shocking murder.

Sponsored by the Center for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, & Transgender (LGBT) Education, Outreach, and Services, the film series this year focuses on the theme of heroes and history of the LGBT movement.

Because the history of LGBT people and movements is rarely taught, it is difficult for people -- LGBT and non-LGBT alike -- to learn about these fascinating yet sometimes lost stories. This year’s series will seek to fill in those gaps.

All screenings are free and open to the public. Look for an announcement of next year's Out of the Closet Film Series theme soon!
