7pm, Tuesday, April 3rd, Textor 101 The RIAA and Ithaca College Comment from

It is absolutely crucial that students attend this meeting! The RIAA has been going around as a corporate bully, attacking students (who besides the fact have very little financial means of complying with the fees they are requesting) and insisting that they pay reparations for copyright infringement. We must go in solidarity and request, REQUIRE that Ithaca College continue to keep its students' identities private, not release them to the RIAA. Everyone who downloads music, everyone who is concerned about Copyright law, everyone who believes that corporations such as the RIAA have become bigger than their britches, go to this meeting and tell ITS, Judicial/Legal affairs that you say NO to the RIAA! Tell them that if they want to educate the student body, the way the RIAA CLAIMS they want, they should begin educating the student body about Copyleft, and Creative Commons Licensing, and finding a new way to derive capitol from LESS RESTRICTIONS on artistic product and Intellectual Property.
