Ithaca College

The Mary Hayes North Competition for Senior Piano majors is free and open to the public at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 6 in the Hockett Family Recital Hall. Contestants will perform a 30-minute program of literature of their choosing.

At the time of her death, alumna Mary Hayes North '27 established an endowment to provide an award for an outstanding Senior Piano Major at Ithaca College. Mrs. North created the endowment to express her deep appreciation to Ithaca College for her instruction and scholarship. As per her bequest, this will be determined by a recital competition held at the School of Music. The prize is $1000.

Past winners include Kawai Chan, Joseph Pepper, Topher Ruggiero, and Peter Cirka.
