Everyone is invited to attend a free screening of the award-winning documentary "Darfur Diaries: Message from Home," which will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers themselves.

The screening will be held in the Park Auditorium on Thursday April, 19 at 7pm.

The film is a product of the time the three independent filmmakers spent
in Darfur, Sudan and Eastern Chad in 2004. Their goal is to let the
people of Darfur speak for themselves and the result is a film which
addresses the worst humanitarian crisis of our time as it occurs through
the eyes and voices of those on the ground. It is an extremely important
film and project which asks us for only an hour of our time to pay
attention to what is happening in Darfur in the words of those who would
know, the people of Darfur.

The film has gathered praise for its treatment of the genocide in Sudan
from people like Alice Walker, author of "The Color Purple," and Larry
Cox, director of Amnesty International, USA. It won "Best of Fest" at the
Tricontinental Film Festival."

Great efforts have been made to have the filmmakers attend, resulting in a
fabulous opportunity to both talk to people who have been on the ground in
Darfur as well as learn about the process of making such a film.

There will also be a book signing following the talk.

We hope you will be able to attend this rare and important event!
