Student's for Economic Equality (SEE) is helping put on a concert with a group out of the Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Tompkins County Workers' Center. The concert will take place in the central pavilion of the Ithaca Commons on Sunday April 29th from 1-5PM. Due to the benefit nature there is a $5 suggested donation and will be a raffle with $1 tickets as well as a food and clothing drive.

The bands currently confirmed for the event are Adam Day, Jimkata, Ayurveda and Mbusi. Between bands will be personal testimonials from people that have experienced poverty and helped overcome poverty in their lives. In addition there will be local organizations tabling with helpful information and an arts and crafts section (including face painting).

A large part of the concert is a food and clothing drive which has already started. If you have extra cloths your looking to get rid of contact Dara at dleinwe1@ithaca.edu or Billy Dawn at bgreenb1@ithaca.edu. You can also bring the food and cloths to the event.

The money being collected is going to help a family in need. Sarah is a grandmother raising five grandchildren on her own, one of them paraplegic and requiring 24 hour nursing care. She has been paying of her debt in order to get a suitable house for her family and we are trying to help with the last bit of it. Every dollar counts at this point.
