The Canandaigua Rotary Club has launched what has become a huge service project to recycle usable footwear. Please take a moment to read the attached flyer that describes the project and to find out how you can be of service.
Pass the word, check with your family, friends, acquaintances... Collect used sneakers that are still in good, wearable condition and bring them to campus this Friday, April 20th, and drop them off at Ithaca Sunrise Rotary Club's collection station, located in the North Foyer, between 10:00am and 4:00pm.
You can also do one of the following:
Please tie pairs together tightly to avoid tangling.
Thank you for your help with this exciting project. Let’s see how many sneakers IC can collect to be passed on to others who can use them! Celebrate Service by Donating a Pair of Sneakers! Comment from

I don't know what the specific plans are, but according to the flyer
that I posted, sneakers have been distributed to/for:
When I deliver the sneakers that I have collected--I have 34 pair in hand as of this writing!--to the Canandaigua Rotary Club at the district conference next weekend, I will ask them if they have definitive plans for distribution. I will also follow-up with them after the conference to see if I can get a total amount of sneakers that they have received at the event. I will post all this in Intercom to the campus community. I can't wait to see what the grand total will be! |

Keep 'em coming! You can either drop them off at the Celebration of Service tomorrow (April 20), or get them to me directly or through Deb Mohlenhoff before Thursday, May 3rd. I'm heading to the conference at Turning Stone in Verona, NY the next day.
When I return, I'll post a follow-up announcement of the total pairs of sneakers that I collected and, if I can get the figure, how many pairs were collected at the conference.
Thanks to all for your support!
