Ithaca College

$10,000 gift is a big boost to the Faculty/Staff Endowed Scholarship.

Craig Evans ’84 is the associate vice president for institutional advancement at IC. Everyone who works with him knows how dedicated he is to the College, but even so the development staff was surprised recently when he donated $10,000 of his own money to the Faculty/Staff Endowed Scholarship.

When asked what triggered his generosity, Craig said, “I know firsthand the value of an Ithaca College education. Not a day has gone by in my professional career—as a teacher, a school administrator, and now an Ithaca College employee—that I have not reflected on what good training and experience I had here as a student. In fact, it was my student experience more than 20 years ago, and my experience as an alumnus ever since, that helped me decide to come back to join the staff.

“When I heard that the Faculty/Staff Campaign Committee had decided to create a scholarship for its campaign goal, I knew this was the perfect vehicle for me to publicly demonstrate my commitment to the institution that has done so much for me as a student, alumnus, and employee. As a student, I received financial aid in the form of scholarships, and I am glad to be able to help future students obtain the training and experience that I did.”

Employees of Ithaca College can join Craig Evans in supporting the Faculty/Staff Endowed Scholarship. Simply fill out a Faculty and Staff Pledge Form, and send it through intracampus mail to Anita Costa in the Office of the Ithaca Fund.
