Ithaca College

On Saturday April 21, 2007, 10 students participated in the 14th annual Hudson River Undergraduate Mathematics Conference (HRUMC), hosted by Siena College in Loudonville, New York. The HRUMC is among the longest-running conferences dedicated solely to student-faculty research in mathematics, drawing schools from all over the Northeast for this one-day event.

The following talks were given:

• Nick Ommen '09: "Integration through Recurrence Relations and its Applications to Calculus." Faculty mentors: Ali Erkan and Osman Yurekli.
• Andy Boslett '09 and Matt Hoover '08: "The Effects of Travel on Home Field Advantage in Baseball." Faculty mentor: Tom Pfaff.
• Kayleigh Rose '07: "Pusuit Curves." Faculty mentor: David Brown.
• Laura Mansfield '08: "Finger Games Based on Gray Code." Faculty mentor: John Rosenthal.
• Alana DePoint '09 and Caitlin Owens '08: "What's the Difference?" (Part I). Faculty mentor: David Brown.
• Keri Sheridan '08 and Zach Simmons '07: "What's the Difference?" (Part II). Faculty mentor: David Brown.
