On Wednesday, April 25th at 3:00pm, Dr. Beth Ellen Clark Joseph from the physics department and Dr. John Confer from the biology department will speak about the plans to bring wind power to Ithaca College. This presentation - the final Sustainability Café for the Spring semester - will be held in Room 204 in the Center for Natural Sciences. This event is free and open to the public.
Clark Joseph and Confer - along with other members of the campus community, including administrators, faculty, staff, and students - have been working for some time to try to harness the power of our local wind resources to generate some of the electricity needed for our campus. These on-going efforts, which led in part to the establishment of the Tompkins Renewable Energy Education Alliance (TREEA), have offered those interested on campus and within the region a number of opportunities to learn more about viable renewable energy technologies.
Drs. Clark Joseph and Confer will update the campus community on the latest developments related to a proposed project to erect a commercial-scale wind turbine on South Hill.
