Assistant professor of anthropology David Turkon has been named a fellow by the Society for Applied Anthropology (SfAA).

The primary objective of the SfAA is "the scientific investigation of the principles controlling the relation of human beings to one another, and the wide application of those principles to practical problems." David was recognized for his work on HIV/AIDS in Lesotho in southern Africa, and for his advocacy with the Sudanese "Lost Boys" refugees in Phoenix, Arizona, and Syracuse, New York.
