National Nurses Week 2007

Contributed by Mary Kranz on 05/06/07

Honoring the unique dedication of the career, the American Nurses Association has chosen the theme "Nursing: A Profession and a Passion" for this year's celebration of National Nurses Week.

Nowhere is that theme more obvious than at the Hammond Health Center of Ithaca College!

Celebrated annually throughout the United States, National Nurses Week begins on May 6 and ends on May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, founder of nursing as a modern profession. Traditionally, National Nurses Week is devoted to highlighting the diverse ways in which registered nurses, the largest health care profession, are working to improve health care.

The 17 full-time, part-time, and per diem registered nurses at the health center have a truly amazing range of experience, but a common background: all love nursing and are among the best the profession has to offer.

Congratulations and best wishes to this special group of professionals!
