Psychology professor Barney Beins co-edited a book, Best Practices for Teaching Statistics and Research Methods in the Behavioral Sciences, which has just been published by Lawrence Erlbaum Associates.

The book is a product of a conference hosted by the Society for the Teaching of Psychology, a division of the American Psychological Association. The book features chapters on teaching with new technologies, integrative approaches to teaching, changes in the fields of statistics and research methods in the behavioral sciences, and special topics such as diversity and development of writing skills. The volume stresses best practices in teaching and assessment issues in student learning.

The book's other co-editors are Dana S. Dunn of Moravian College and Randolph A. Smith of Kennesaw State University.
