Information Technology Services is pleased to announce a new project proposal intake system. This process should be used when you need assistance from ITS in developing a new technology-related application or service.

The proposal is intended to give ITS a preliminary understanding of the nature, scope and resource requirements of the proposed project. Projects can range from installing new servers or applications to developing a new computer-based facility. If you're thinking about something new and it involves computers, this intake system is for you!

The process is simple. Go to the computing home page for faculty and staff at https://www.ithaca.edu/computing/fs_index.htm and click on "submit a project proposal to ITS". Then log in using your email user name and password. You and your team can then begin developing the initial proposal. Once your proposal has been submitted, ITS may approve, deny, or request more information about your proposal. If the proposal is approved, ITS will assign a coordinator to work with you to develop a detailed project specification document which will then be submitted to ITS for final review and approval. Please note: acceptance of a proposal does not constitute a commitment by ITS to complete the proposed project or adhere to an expected or required completion date. It is simply an indication that the project appears feasible and is in keeping with technology plans and priorities of ITS and the College.

So, if you have an idea or a project that might require help from ITS we urge you to use this new system. It will help ITS understand and manage the needs and priorities of the campus community with existing resources.
