The Young People's Chorus of New York City will give a free concert at 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 28 in Ford Hall. Artistic director and founder Francisco Núñez and Elizabeth Núñez will conduct. The chorus is hosted by the Ithaca Children's Choir, which is under the artistic direction of Janet Galván and will also be conducted by Jennifer Haywood. Music by Francisco Núñez, Mussorgsky, Papoulis, Elizabeth Ziman, and Heikki Sarmanto is on the program. A featured piece of music by Geoffrey Burgon is called "Shirtless Stephen and the Children's Crusade," a dramatic and touching work about children in the crusades.
