This story is submitted on behalf of David E. Newman, M.D., Director of Student Health Services

I am delighted to announce that we have hired Erin Hall-Rhoades, M.D. as attending Physician and Assistant Director of the Hammond Health Center.

Erin comes to us from the Convenient Care Centers and VA primary care satellite offices in Ithaca and Cortland, and has eight years of experience in primary care family medicine. Her undergraduate training was at Oberlin College and Harvard University, and she received her M.D. from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. In addition to her clinical training, she spent four years as a senior research assistant at the McLean Hospital Alcohol and Drug Abuse Research Center where she was involved in medication trials, the evaluation of the endocrine affects of drug abuse, and environmental factors contributing to the development of alcoholism; she has co-authored five publications.

Dr. Rhoades will join us in mid-August, probably on a part-time basis for a number of weeks until she is able to transition out of her current practice. Once she is on board full-time, she will be dividing her time between patient care and administration as we develop and define the role of Assistant Director.
