Teach in Antigua and Barbuda

Contributed by Rachel Gould on 08/31/07

During the past several years a large number of Ithaca College students have taken courses offered by College faculty members in Antigua. Many of those students have said it was one of the most meaningful learning experiences of their lives. The beauty of Antigua's beaches and mountains, rain forest, and, above all, its people make it an ideal place to learn about a different geographic and cultural environment while meeting wonderful people.

The Office of International Programs (OIP) would like to invite faculty and staff members to submit proposals for new short-term study abroad programs in Antigua and Barbuda for the winter, spring break, or summer 2008.

Ithaca College is in the process of putting together a semester-long program in Antigua, which, when established, will give students the ability to take courses and participate in professional internships. While the semester program is being developed, we would like to encourage faculty members to develop short-term courses to be offered in Antigua.

We are hoping to see one Antigua short-term course proposal coming from as many of the five schools and the Division as possible, in order to provide opportunities for study abroad in Antigua to students from all areas of the College.

Please contact Rachel Cullenen in the Office of International Programs at rcullenen@ithaca.edu or 274-3306 should you be interested in this unique opportunity. We look forward to working with you in developing a new program in beautiful Antigua and Barbuda.
