As a part of the Student Leadership Institute, Pranay Bhatla will present a free session, entitled "Ethical Theories and Leadership: A Discussion," on Tuesday, October 30, at 7:00 p.m. in the Klingenstein Lounge.

This session discusses about some philosophical theories of ethics as proposed by philosophers such as Aristotle, Jeremy Bentham, and John Stuart Mill. It will also shed light on "ethics" being a relative word without concrete scientific analysis. A discussion will follow about whether absolute ethical leadership is possible in many formal institutions, or if ethical leadership with relative boundaries is the only possibility.

There will also be a discussion of business leaders like Warren Buffet and other advocates for ethical leadership in the corporate world, as well as other institutional powerhouses of leadership. This session earns credit for the "Leading Self" Certificate.

The Student Leadership Institute is an ongoing series of free workshop sessions designed around topics in leadership and is intended for all Ithaca College students. Presented by the Center for Student Leadership and Involvement, you can learn more about the Student Leadership Institute by visiting the center's website or calling 274-3222.
