The Ithaca College Wind Ensemble, conducted by Stephen Peterson, will continue the annual Friends of Ithaca College September tradition of the Founder's Day Concert in the Park with a free, open-air performance on Sunday, September 16. The concert will begin at 2:00 p.m. in DeWitt Park in downtown Ithaca, with a rain location at Ford Hall in the James J. Whalen Center for Music.

Entitled "The Best of Broadway," the performance will feature tunes from Les Miserables, Showboat, Wicked, My Fair Lady, West Side Story, and other Broadway shows.

This concert brings music back to the original Ithaca College downtown "campus quad" and celebrates the college's partnership with the community. The first Founder's Day Concert in the Park took place in 1992 to mark the centennial of the founding of the Ithaca Conservatory of Music. The concert is sponsored by Baker Travel, with special thanks to the Boardman House.

The Ithaca College School of Music offers some 300 free concerts each academic year. More information on these performances is available by calling (607) 274-3717 or visiting www.ithaca.edu/concerts.
