Residential Life is still looking for students to participate in focus groups on Monday, September 24, and Tuesday, September 25.
The Office of Residential Life has contracted the services of a consultant, Tom Hier, who is going to help develop a comprehensive housing plan. This plan will lay out future directions for residence hall facilities and programs for the next ten years.
For example, the plan will help answer questions like:
* Does we have the appropriate type and amount of housing options? (singles, apartments, suites, etc.)
* Should we house all first-year students together?
* Should we expand our learning community offerings?
* Do we have the type and quality of housing we need for new students and sophomores?
* Why do students elect to move off campus?
In order to begin the process Tom needs to meet with 50 to 100 students in focus groups. He will be on campus Monday, September 24, and Tuesday, September 25, to conduct these focus groups. At Tom's request we have scheduled the following focus groups:
September 24
Noon - Upperclass students (Six Mile Creek Meeting Room)
5:00 p.m. - Learning Community students (Six Mile Creek Meeting Room)
6:00 p.m. - Sophomores (Six Mile Creek Meeting Room)
7:00 p.m. - First-year students (Six Mile Creek Meeting Room)
8:00 p.m. - RHA Assembly (Ithaca Falls Meeting Room)
September 25

6:00 p.m. - Sophomores (Cayuga Lake Meeting Room)
7:00 p.m. - Upperclass students (Six Mile Meeting Room)
