I have invited each of the members of the Presidential Search Committee to join me for the open sessions with faculty, staff, and students on October 3 and 4. The search committee will hold its first official meeting on Thursday, October 10, 2007. As our work gets underway, I will continue to provide updates to the entire campus community through Intercom and the Presidential Search Web page (ithaca.edu/president_search) via link on the Ithaca College home page (coming soon).

In closing, I want to express my deep appreciation to the Faculty Council Executive Committee, Staff Council Nominations Committee, and the Student Government Association for producing a strong list of nominees for my consideration. The strength of all of the nominees was truly a strong indication of the excellence that abounds at Ithaca College. I extend a special thank you to the members of both the board of trustees and the campus community who indicated a willingness to serve as nominees for this most important assignment.

Editor's note: Please see related Intercom posting for more detailed information about the meetings with the campus community on October 3 and 4.
