Steven Seidman, associate professor of communication management and design and chair of the Department of Strategic Communication, presented his paper, "The Design of Nazi Election Posters, and American Advertising and Public Relations," at the 39th annual conference of the International Visual Literacy Association in Curitiba, Brazil, on October 10.

The theme of the conference was Visual Literacy Beyond Frontiers: Information, Culture and Diversity.

Seidman's paper discusses the visual design of Nazi party election campaign posters from 1920 to 1933, and the effects of American principles and practices in advertising, public relations, and mass psychology on Nazi leaders and their political propaganda during that period.
