On Thursday, November 1, at 12:30 p.m., the Haudenosaunee flag will be raised by Dan Hill, Cayuga Heron Clan member, outside of the student union at the flagpole.

This will be the first time a Native person has raised the flag here to commemorate the Haudenosaunee Confederacy and the Cayuga Nation, who called this place home long before Ithaca College existed.

Dan Hill is the first Cayuga to move back to the ancestral homeland. He lives at the Cayuga-SHARE Farm, a piece of land that was repatriated back to the Cayugas by several IC professors and community members in 2005.
