Ithaca's women's soccer, volleyball, and field hockey teams will each be participating in Empire 8 playoff competition this week.

The women's soccer team (14-3-0) is the top seed for the Empire 8 Championship Tournament, and will host fourth-seeded Utica Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in a semifinal. If the Bombers win, they'll host the winner of the Stevens Institute of Technology/Nazareth semifinal in the tournament final, Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

The volleyball team (28-8), which won the state tournament over the weekend, is seeded fourth in the Empire 8 Championship Tournament. Ithaca plays a noon match Saturday against top-seeded Stevens Institute of Technology, the tournament host. With a win, Ithaca would advance to Saturday's final at 7:00 p.m. against the winner of the Rochester Institute of Technology/Nazareth semifinal.

The field hockey team (6-9) is seeded third in the Empire 8 Championship Tournament, to be hosted by top-seeded Washington and Jefferson. Ithaca will play a 2:30 p.m. semifinal game on Saturday against second-seeded Nazareth. If the Bombers win, they would play the winner of the Hartwick/Washington and Jefferson match at 1:00 p.m. in Sunday's final.
