The theme of this year's conference was "Transatlantic Women: Intersections Between Languages and Other Areas of Encounter."

DiFrancesco presented a paper entitled, "Virgins and Prostitutes: Re-imagining Religious Iconography in Lourdes Ortiz's 'Fátima de los naufragios' and 'La piel de Marcelinda.' " Varona-Lacey presented a paper entitled, " 'Maldito amor' y la desmitificación del 'Paraíso.' "

At this year's meeting, it was also announced that DiFrancesco has been elected to represent assistant professors and graduate students, an important constituency within the group's membership.
