Ithaca's women's soccer team will compete in the NCAA playoffs this weekend, while the Bomber volleyball and men's soccer teams have been picked for the ECAC Upstate NY tournament.
The women's soccer team (16-3-0) has been selected for the NCAA playoffs. The Bombers, champions of the Empire 8, will host play in a four-team regional in Norton, Massachusetts, hosted this weekend by Wheaton. Ithaca takes on Bowdoin (12-4-1) at 1:30 p.m. in one of Friday's semifinals, with host Lyons (21-0-1) facing Baptist Bible (17-3-2) at 11:00 a.m. in the other semifinal. The regional final is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday.
Ticket prices for each game, as set by Wheaton and the NCAA, will be $10 for adults, $3 for students with ID and senior citizens, and $2 for children under 12.
The volleyball team (28-9) has been seeded first in the ECAC Upstate NY Championship Tournament, which will be hosted by Union Saturday. The Bombers face fourth-seeded Hartwick (19-13) at noon in one semifinal with the second-seeded hosts (28-11) taking on third-seeded Vassar (22-10) in the other semifinal. The winners will meet Saturday at 6:00 p.m. in the ECAC Upstate NY final.
The men's soccer team (10-6-1) is seeded fifth in the eight-team ECAC Upstate NY Championship Tournament and will play at fourth-seeded St. John Fisher (11-7-1) Wednesday, November 7, at 7:00 p.m. in a quarterfinal match. The winners of Wednesday's four quarterfinal matches will meet in the semifinal and final round, to be hosted by the highest remaining seed Saturday and Sunday.
