On Thursday, November 15, public television stations from across upstate New York will broadcast a special program on the challenges facing business leaders and government officials throughout the region. Titled Upstate: Getting Down to Business, the hour-long live program will include a segment featuring Susan West Engelkemeyer, dean of the School of Business.

The show airs at 9:00 p.m. and can be seen in the Ithaca area on Binghamton's WSKG-TV or Syracuse's WCNY-TV. Also broadcasting the show will be PBS affiliates in Buffalo, Rochester, Albany, Watertown, and Plattsburgh.

Upstate: Getting Down to Business will bring together Daniel Gundersen, upstate chair of the Empire State Development Corporation, with regional economic development officers and a live studio audience. Each station will present an economic overview of its region and share economic success stories and challenges. The panel will provide answers and dialog about specific economic concerns.

Produced by WSKG-TV, the segment featuring Dean Engelkemeyer spotlights the Ithaca area's focus on sustainability. She explains why the School of Business will be housed in a new "green" building and the value in infusing sustainability into business education.
