On Monday, November 26, at 4:00 p.m. in Friends 201, the Sustainability Cafe topic will be "Perspective from the Burgeoning Solar Electric Industry”, presented by Rob Garrity, a member of the sales and project management team for altPower.
After spending decades in relative anonymity, between 2001 and 2006 the solar electric industry grew at an annual compound rate of 41%! Over six years, Rob Garrity has been designing, selling and installing stand-alone and grid-tied systems solar electric systems, ranging in size from .25kW to 400kW, across PA, CT, upstate NY, NYC and Long Island. Rob’s presentation will provide an overview on the industry as well as his own perspective on life inside this rapidly growing, ostensibly green field. Rob is a NYSERDA listed installer and has certification from the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners. Rob resides with his wife and 3 children in Ithaca, NY when not on the road trying to make more PV happen.
This Café is cosponsored by the Tompkins Renewable Energy Education Alliance and the Environmental Seminar.
"Teachable edibles" -- seasonal, organic, and/or local foods -- for the fall 2007 Sustainability Café series are being supported by Ithaca College Dining Services. Please bring your reusable mug and fill up at the drinking fountain or provide your beverage of choice.
