Need a break from writing papers and studying?

Take a few moments to relax and help provide books to Gambia, West Africa.

On Thursday, December 6, at 6:30 p.m., the Park School will host a reception in the Park School lobby featuring a live African music performance and free food.

Donations will be accepted at the event to help ship the books to Gambia.

An exhibition of photographs from IC senior Michelle Diemer's summer 2007 trip to Gambia will also take place in Park 220 during the fundraiser.

The event will also provide a short information session for the Reggie Simmons Memorial Award, which sends two communications or politics students to Africa every summer through Operation Crossroads Africa.

Please take a break from your busy schedules to attend this event, which hopes to provide 25,000 books to libraries throughout Gambia.

If you have any questions about the event, please direct them to event organizer Michelle Diemer at mdiemer1@ithaca.edu, or IC STAND at stand@ithaca.edu.
