ITS and Verizon are pleased to report that the phone and voice mail systems were successfully cut over to new systems this past weekend, January 4-6, 2008.

  • If you did not personalize your voice mail box prior to cutover, you can still do so by following these instructions.
  • If you need to access voice mail messages on the old system, please dial 4-5100, enter the voicemail box number, hit the * key, and enter the security code. Old messages will be available through the end of January.
  • If you have any problems or questions, please call the Helpdesk at 4-3282 and press 2. You will be directed to Verizon representatives.

Is that why my phone is still dead as a doornail at 11:15 AM Monday morning?

Finally at 2:30 PM on Monday my phone is working. I think the following message from the Computing Help Desk may help others.

"The Verizon Help group is here on campus and can help service this phone for you. There are located in the TLC lab in Friends 101 and they can also be reached by 607) 274-5150."

You may want to contact them soon as they said they were wrapping up their work.
