They will read from their work at 7:30 p.m. on February 6, March 25, and April 1, respectively. Readings are free and open to the public.

Robert Olen Butler [pictured at right], recipient of the Pulitzer Prize in 1993 for A Good Scent from a Strange Mountain, is the author of ten novels and four collections of short fiction. His stories have appeared in the New Yorker, Esquire, the Paris Review, and elsewhere. He will read on Wednesday, February 6, in Klingenstein Lounge, Egbert Hall.

Yusef Komunyakaa is the author of 12 books of poetry, among them Neon Vernacular: New and Selected Poems, which won the Pulitzer Prize in 1994. He has taught creative writing throughout the country, most recently at Princeton University and New York University. His reading will take place on Tuesday, March 25, in Park Hall Auditorium.

Vivian Gornick has spent most of her working life writing memoirs and personal essays. She is the author of eight books, one of them nominated for a National Book Award and another for a National Book Critics Circle Award. She will read on Tuesday, April 1, in Beeler Hall (room 3104) in the Whalen Center for Music.

In addition to reading from their work, all three Distinguished Visiting Writers will share in teaching a master class in creative writing to Ithaca College students.
