Blood can only come from donors like you!
Please email redcross@ithaca.edu to set up an appointment for our blood drive this Tuesday, February 5, from 8:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. in Emerson Suites in Phillips Hall.
You know that severe weather has the potential to decrease donations, along with the winter cold and flu season, but if blood supplies do not immediately increase, those whose lives depend on transfusions will be at risk for not getting the blood they need.
When weather permits, every eligible individual should give blood -- if not for themselves, then for friends, their loved ones, or their neighbors.
You are eligible to donate if you meet the following criteria:
• Are at least 17 years old
• Weigh at least 110 pounds
• Have not donated within the last 56 days
• Have not traveled abroad since 1980 for more then three cumulative months in Great Britain or six cumulative months in Europe
We will also be taking three "double red" donations every hour. To be eligible for these special donations, you must meet the following criteria:
• Men: 150 pounds weight, 5' 1" height minimum
• Women: 175 pounds weight, 5' 5" height minimum

TIPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL DONATION:
To improve your donation experience be sure to eat well the day of donation, drink plenty of fluids, and get a good night's sleep!
