The Office of Public Safety is investigating the theft of an historic piece of Ithaca College artwork. The theft occurred from the Campus Center on Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at approximately 5:45 p.m.

The work is a 26" x 32" oil portrait of former Ithaca College President Ellis Phillips. It was taken from the first floor lobby of Phillips Hall.

A witness reported seeing two males and one female student remove the portrait from the building and they were last seen heading toward the lower quad area carrying the portrait.
