May the Farce Be with You

Contributed by Greg Bostwick on 02/15/08

The Styles of Acting class will offer some light lunchtime theater on Wednesday, February 20.

The class has prepared Moliere's short farce, L'Amour médecin (translated roughly as The Love Doctor). It is a one-act play that Moliere wrote in five days during September 1665 at the suggestion of Louis XIV after Tartuffe caused such an uproar.

Our version (in English) will feature one actor as Sganarelle, while the other four actors play three characters each.

Admission is free. The presentation on Wednesday, February 20, in the Clark Theatre of Dillingham Center, starts at 12:15 p.m. and should last about a half-hour.

We hope you can join us for the fun. Feel free to bring your lunch, a friend, and your sense of humor.
