Three members of the Department of Art History recently published papers in journals or anthologies.
Assistant professor Jennifer Germann published an essay, "Queen Seduces Mistress: Reconsidering the Historical Legacies of Madame de Pompadour and Marie Leszczinska," in Feminism Reframed: Reflections on Art and Difference, edited by Alexandra M. Kokoli, from Cambridge Scholars Press. She also chaired a panel called "Fragmenting the Eighteenth-century Body" at this year's American Society for Eighteenth-century Studies conference in Portland, Oregon.
Assistant professor Jennifer Jolly's article, "Art of the Collective: David Alfaro Siqueiros, Josep Renau, and Their Collaboration at the Mexican Electricians' Syndicate," appears in the March 2008 issue of the Oxford Art Journal (volume 31, number 1).
Department chair and associate professor Gary Wells published an essay, entitled "The (Uncommon) Challenge of the Cultural Commonwealth," in a special issue of Academic Commons devoted to cyber-infrastructure and the liberal arts (December 2007).
