On Monday, April 28, Ithaca Dining Services will celebrate National Composting Week in Towers Dining Hall during lunch.

The special menu at the Fresh Food Market will include: vegetarian curry with vegetables, couscous salad and Thai beef salad served with white rice.

Both REMP and ICES will have composting information available during the event.

The theme this year is "The Possibilities Are Endless ... Compost!" Composting is the biological decomposition of organic material to produce a soil-like substance called humus (the rich dark part of soil that makes plant thrive). By composting food waste and other organic products, this solid waste is recycled and reused, rather than stored for decades in a landfill.
