Ithaca College

Performers from five area colleges and universities will gather at Ithaca College on Sunday, April 20, for an afternoon of jamming that will lead up to a free concert. Hosted by the Ithaca College Vocal Jazz Ensemble, the jam sessions will begin 1:30 in Ford Hall in the James J. Whalen Center for Music. The performance will begin in Ford Hall at 4:30 p.m.

"This is not a formal festival," said Lauri Robinson-Keegan, lecturer in music performance and organizer of the event. "It is an afternoon where college vocal jazz ensembles from the region hang out together, work with each others' directors, and then put on a concert to end the day, singing for and with each other. The entire afternoon is informal and open to the public."

The Ithaca College Vocal Jazz Ensemble (directed by Robinson-Keegan) will be joined by Cornell University's Jazz Voices (Magee Lawhorn, president), LeMoyne College's Jazzuits (Carol Jacobe, director), Mansfield University’s Mansfieldians (Sheryl Monkelien, director), and Syracuse University's Windjammer (Bill DiCosimo, director).
