The School of Humanities and Sciences is pleased to announce that seven H&S faculty members have been awarded Experiential Learning Curriculum Enhancement Grants. These $500 grants are intended as a first step in a pilot project geared toward further integrating experiential learning opportunities for students into the H&S curriculum.

Grant recipients are:

  • Susan Allen-Gil, associate professor, biology, and coordinator, environmental studies
  • William Hudenko, assistant professor, psychology
  • Cheryl Kramer, assistant professor, art history, and director, Handwerker Gallery
  • Andrew Smith, associate professor, biology
  • Michael Smith, assistant professor, history
  • Susan Swensen, associate professor, biology, and
  • Rachel Wagner, assistant professor, philosophy/religion

The grants support these faculty members in their efforts to revise existing course syllabi to incorporate assignments or activities that provide effective experiential learning opportunities, as outlined in the H&S Experiential Learning Framework document:
