An Ithaca College student who has been missing since early Sunday morning is the subject of a search being conducted in the South Hill area by local law enforcement and emergency services agencies.

William Jacobson, a freshman who resides in the Terrace 11 residence hall, was last seen in the City of Ithaca between 3:30 and 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 27. At that time he was in the backyard of 105 Grandview Avenue, below the Hudson Heights Apartments, and it was believed he was planning to return to his room.

Jacobson is described as a white male, approximately 5'9" tall, 165 pounds, with a thin build. He has black wavy hair, a goatee, and a mustache. When last seen, he was wearing a white long-sleeved dress shirt, navy blue vest, black dress pants, and black dress shoes.

The accompanying photograph was taken the night he was last seen.

Anyone who might have seen Jacobson or who has any information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the Ithaca Police Department at 607-274-1060 or 607-272-3245, or the Ithaca College Office of Public Safety at 607-274-3333.

When I saw this beautiful picture of this student, I felt that the best way to help was to surround his being with love , prayers and hope.

Willie is one of my best students. He is a very bright, articulate young man with an extraordinarily beautiful spirit. My thoughts and prayers are with him now for a warm and safe return.
