Bombers to Host Empire 8 Softball Playoffs

The ninth-ranked softball team will host this weekend's Empire 8 Championship Tournament at Kostrinsky Field. The winner of the double-elimination tournament will earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA playoffs.

Top-seeded Ithaca -- the winner of all six previous Empire 8 Championship Tournaments -- faces fourth-seeded Nazareth Friday at noon in game two of the tournament.

Second-seeded Alfred and third-seeded St. John Fisher open play Friday with a 10:00 a.m. game.

The tournament concludes Saturday, May 3 (with Sunday, May 4, scheduled as a rain date).
