That is the dumbest idea ever. What if someone has an emergency? They're supposed to call 911? If they call 911 from their cell they're going to get an area 911 instead of public safety, so the response time is going to be longer. What if they've been raped. Or they're at gun point, which leads me to a better question, how come the EMS message went out TWO HOURS after the actual accident. THAT IS TOO LONG!!! What if we had another Virginia Tech on our hands? As soon as it's reported there should be action without hesitation. That's bull.

I appreciate your comments but our data shows that very few students actually have a phone in their room now .Only Approximately 100 residential students have phones in their rooms this year. So, the majority of students rely on their cell phones now. The blue light phones around campus will remain the same and all RAs and RDs will have phones in their rooms.
