Information Technology Services (ITS) is pleased to announce that Internet Explorer 7 for Windows (IE7) is now certified for use with the college's business systems such as Parnassus and HomerAdmin.

IE7 has a new look and many new features including:

• Tabbed Browsing - View multiple Web pages in a single browser window
• Instant Search Box - Use your favorite search provider through a search box instead of an entire toolbar
• Printing Improvements - Automatic scaling of Web pages for a better printed appearance
• Phishing Filter - Helps detect fraudulent Web pages that an e-mail message might try to lure you to

ITS has verified IE7 compatibility with the mainstream Web applications used on campus, but users should check with the manufacturer of any departmental or school-specific Web applications to confirm compatibility with the new version of Internet Explorer.

Faculty and students should be aware that IE7 will replace IE6 in labs and eClassrooms during summer 2008. Also, IE7 will replace IE6 on all Windows technology renewal computers beginning January 2009.
