At its May meeting, the Ithaca College Board of Trustees awarded promotions to seven faculty members. In addition, Leslie Lewis, who will assume the position of dean of the School of Humanities and Sciences on July 1, was granted tenure and the rank of professor.
Mary Pitti was promoted from clinical instructor to clinical assistant professor; Barbara Adams and Kathleen Buccieri were promoted from assistant to associate professor; and Joanne Burress, Claire Gleitman, Jeff Ives, and Zenon Wasyliw were promoted from associate to full professor.
Pitti joined the Department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology in 2002. She holds B.S. and M.S. degrees from Ithaca College.
Adams joined the Department of English in 1972 and has taught in the Department of Writing since 1973. She earned her B.A. degree from the University of Southern California and M.A. from Yale University.
Buccieri has taught in the Department of Physical Therapy since 1997. She holds a B.S. degree from Ithaca College, M.S. from Rocky Mountain University and Ph.D. from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions.
Burress joined the Department of Accounting in 2004. She earned her B.A. degree from the State University of New York College at Geneseo, M.B.A. from the Rochester Institute of Technology, and Ph.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
Gleitman has taught since 1992 in the Department of English. She holds a B.A. degree from Wesleyan University and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from New York University.
Ives joined the Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences in 1995. He holds a B.S. degree from Chapman University and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Massachusetts.
Wasyliw has taught in the Department of History since 1989. He earned his B.A., M.A., M.A.T., and Ph.D. degrees from the State University of New York at Binghamton.
