You can still purchase VIP packages for the Ithaca Community Fireworks, but act soon -- they are going fast!
For information about VIP packages, contact Janet Hewitt at Tompkins Trust Company, 273-3210. Information is also available online at communityfireworks.com.
The VIP area will feature a miniconcert by Aaron Kelly, the young country-singing sensation, and the ever-popular local favorite Alice Detrick.
Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m., weather permitting, with tethered hot-air balloon rides thanks to RE/Max In Motion Real Estate. The VIP area, atop Ithaca College's South Hill campus, provides an "up close and personal" view of the fireworks show, plus a barbecue buffet beginning at 7:00 p.m. Fireworks begin at about 9:45 p.m.
In addition to stage entertainment, there will be clowns, magicians, face painting, balloon making, and games for children throughout the evening. A VIP package, which costs $150 for a family of five, also includes a special parking pass, an after-glow party, and a special exit route following the fireworks.
