Veteran enrollment management professional Richard “Rit” Fuller ’73 has been named acting dean of the Office of Enrollment Planning. He will serve in that capacity for the fall 2008 semester, while longtime dean Larry Metzger, M.S. ’87, is on a leave of absence.
Fuller has served as director of admission at the Rochester Institute of Technology (1985–89) and Johns Hopkins University (1989–94), and as dean of admission and financial aid at Hamilton College (1994–2003). Since 2003 he has been an educational consultant, focusing on strategic planning in admission, financial aid and enrollment. His clients have included Bentley College, New York University, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts-Boston, and Syracuse University.
Fuller earned his bachelor’s degree in history from Ithaca College in 1973 and master’s degree in college student personnel from Bowling Green State University in 1978. He has been a presenter at national meetings of the College Board and the National Association of College Admission Counselors, and recently has been elected to the Board of Trustees of Franklin & Marshall College.
